LiveWires
These wire horses originate from a horse-crazy kid's fascination with bending baling wire and have evolved as I have grown up! The story goes that I saw a lady on TV making wire armadillos when I was 12 and so of course I had to make a wire horse! I was lucky enough to have plenty of baling wire at the barn. So one day I literally sat down on a hay bale and made the first "livewire."
Livewires have continued to evolve over the years, but only in january of 2003 did I turn it into a business to pay for college. My mom suggested that I add beads and a friend loaned me her catalog for colored wire- and that was that! I am a native of Ashland, Oregon
All profits go straight to the horse's
(or the college student's) mouth!
Mission Statement: to create original and unique sculptures that make you smile & possess a little of that 'equine magic'
The horse shown is my buddy "Pluto Con Bria II"- aka Oliver. He is an 8yr old Lipizzaner gelding owned, bred, & trained by Jennifer Roth. Check out "Across the Diagonal Farm" where there are lots of wonderful Lipizanners- including some babies that I helped deliver! http://fp.redshift.com/jroth/index.htm
